Ab Initio Capital (ABI) is a global investment firm with offices in Boston and Beijing, that mainly invests in mid to late stage companies in TMT and consumer goods sectors in both the U.S. and Asia. Ab Initio is the Latin word for first principles and is also the driven force of our long term success. A first principle in Physics and Philosophy, as described by Aristotle, is a basic, foundational, self-evident proposition or assumption that cannot be deduced from any other proposition or assumption. By applying first principles thinking in the global economy and human civilization, we have been relentlessly pursuing the deepest possible understanding of how the economy works and how human beings work, which turned into great investments.
