The firm does not invest in refinancing or liabilities restructuring processes and working capital requirements. Within direct investments it focuses on incubation, startups, early venture, mid venture, late venture, middle markets, growth capital investments, and mezzanine financing. It targets expansion processes including the acquisition of other companies and assets and also innovation activities and the internationalization of the Spanish enterprise. It targets medium-sized, consolidated companies, for which the planned allocation amounts to 70% of the portfolio and start-ups will take up the remaining 30% (20% through other funds). The firm offers investment in capital or participating loans or a combination of two. Within the fund of fund investments it focuses on venture capital funds that invest in Spanish companies in all stages of development. It prefers to invest in environment with a focus on eco-innovation, waste treatment and management, products made from recycled materials; social and knowledge and innovation sector with a focus on health and biotechnology, energy and climate change, information, communication and technology, nanotechnology. Overall, the firm makes both equity and debt investments between €1 million ($1.44 million) and €40 million ($55.69 million) in companies with maximum sales value of €50 million ($72.04 million) and minimum EBITDA of €4 million ($5.76 million). The firms average target investment is €5 million ($7.23 million) with the minimum and maximum amount in consolidated, expanding companies from €1.5 million ($2.16 million) to €15 million ($21.69 million) and innovating start-ups from €0.75 million ($1.08 million) to €1.5 million ($2.16 million). In the case of capital expansion, the target company should have minimum sales of €20 million ($28.92 million) with EBITDA of €4 million ($5.76 million), together with a competitive edge in its segment. For fund of fund investments, invests between €1 million ($1.44 million) and €15 million ($21.61 million). The firm invests in capital for an average period of five years (flexible) and provides participating loans for up to seven years (two-year grace period). It prefers to take minority stake but not majority minority. It prefers to co-invest with other funds. Through Fesinfraestructuras, FCR the firm specializes in investments in construction projects or infrastructure maintenance in Spain. It prefers to invest in companies operating in transport with a focus on railway infrastructure, roads, high-capacity roads, underground, trams; energy with a focus on mature, renewable technologies (wind, thermo-electrical solar), biomass; and the environment and social infrastructures and services with a focus on hospitals, education centers, water and waste treatment facilities. It will invest about half of its resources in transport infrastructure projects, while the rest will be distributed among the sectors of energy and the environment and social infrastructures and services. The firm finances enterprises mainly through holdings in capital, subordinated debt and participating loans. It finances projects for a minimum amount of €10 million ($14.46 million) and maximum to €100 million ($144.46 million). Its holding will not be a majority one.
