It prefers to make investments in niche consumer products including aftermarket products and services, ag specialty, farm and home, branded food and food ingredients, craft and hobby, dealer distributed and branded products, education related, niche branded apparel, outdoor and recreation products, and pet products. The firm typically invests in the states of the Big Twelve conference, extending into the Greater Midwest, Southeast, and Intermountain West. It primarily invests in companies with equity investment between $2.5 million and $25 million, revenues of between $5 million and $50 million and EBITDA of between $1 million and $5 million, minimum of $500 thousand preferred. The firm seeks to invest in companies with EBITDA margins in excess of 10 percent. It seeks to chair or co-chair the board of its portfolio companies and serve as a board level advisor or observer for minority investments.
