Capital Grand Est is a private equity and venture capital firm specializing in investments in startup, growth capital and buyout. It invests in all sectors but with a preference for sectors including nanotechnology, biotechnology, life sciences, telecoms and consumer discretionary. The firm seeks to acquire equity or quasi equity stakes in small and medium size enterprises based in the following French regions: Alsace, Lorraine, Burgundy and Franche-Comté; as well as in Germany and Switzerland. It prefers to make equity investments between €0.15 million ($0.17 million) and €3.60 million ($4.16 million) in companies with revenues between €10 million ($11.57 million) and €100 million (115.77 million) and at least €2 million ($2.31 million) of enterprise value. It also considers investments up to €5 million ($5.78 million) when investing alongside a pool of investors. The firm takes minority and majority stakes in its portfolio companies. It prefers to hold its investments for a period of five to seven years. The firm seeks the integration of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) criteria in the selection of investments and the management of its holdings.
