The firm seeks to invest in acquisition of ownership position (Control), buyouts, recapitalizations, Corporate carve-outs, growth equity investments, operational turnarounds, minority investments, restructurings, and industry consolidations. It generally does not invest in venture capital and high technology investments. The firm will consider investment in virtually any industry but has a particular interest in branded commercial and consumer products, food and retail, General and Light industrials, niche manufacturing, healthcare services, light manufacturing, energy- equipment / services and natural resources, infrastructure related products and services, building products, chemicals, business services and distribution. It prefers to invest in United States and considers international investments if there is a United States element to it or any United States partner participating. The firm seeks to invest between $25 million and over $200 million of equity in transactions sizes between $10 million and $200 million in companies with EBITDA upto $25 million, emphasis on $5 million – $15 million enterprise value between $25 million and $500 million, target unlevered ROIC of 15% - 20% and sales between $5 million and $500 million. It has no preset exit expectation, a long-term investment horizon without structural requirements to exit investments in 3-5 years. It will consider transactions requiring larger equity components, in and with family and entrepreneurially-owned companies, as well as select corporate divestitures; typically first outside / institutional capital.
