Although, it prefers to invests across the primary business services sectors prevalent in its region with a focus on transaction processing; outsourced services; financial services; marketing services; customer service management, light manufacturing and distribution – light manufacturing and assembly (equipment, component, and product); packaging, logistics and warehousing; distribution, healthcare services and IT including healthcare services; lab or diagnostic services; claims management or processing; information technology; business and financial services; technology including software; IT or managed services; devices; applications; media and publishing including online and video content; web delivery software and tools; software, medical, retail and consumer products with a focus on specialty retail; for-profit education; consumer products, construction services – specialty trade; management services; retro-fit; repairs and maintenance sustainable technologies and services – energy efficiency (software and devices); renewable energy, and efficient production methods, and food, beverage and agri-business including value-added processing; natural, organic, niche and ethnically based products; health and wellness nutraceuticals; logistics and support; agricultural services; related technologies and equipment. The firm typically invests in underserved communities in the broader Sacramento and Central Valley region and the Southwest with a focus on Reno and Carson City, and across the broader Northern and Central California region like Baja California North, California and and adjacent states. It primarily invests in companies between $10 million and $100 million in revenues and in conjunction with its institutional investor partners, the firm funds later stage companies between $5 million and $100 million in revenues. It generally invests between $1 million and $10 million with an enterprise value of minimum $10 million; an EBITDA of minimum $1 million to $20 million, and make debt investment of minimum $1 million, but has capacity of investing between $30 million and $50 million through affiliated fund partners. The firm also seeks opportunities to invest in minority-owned or minority-targeted enterprises, particularly those serving the rapidly expanding Hispanic community. The firm also seeks opportunities to fund full and partial liquidity to business owners interested in diversifying their risk taking either minority or majority positions in the companies. The firm primarily makes control investments in buyouts and acquire majority ownership in companies. It also prefers to make minority non-control growth capital investments.
