It typically invests through acquisition of capital including common or preferred shares; convertible or participating debentures including unsecured loans; and project financing. The firm seeks to provide businesses with financial products such as quasi-equity and equity and can use bank financial product. It also makes investments in subordinated loans. The firm prefers to take a seat on the board of directors or the management committees of the portfolio companies. It typically holds a non-controlling minority stake, rarely exceeding 49% in its investments. The firm seeks not to hold the majority of voting shares in the company unless special circumstances. For investments exceeding $2 million, the firm invests through partnership. It prefers to exit its portfolio companies between five years and seven years. The firm makes balance sheet investments.
