Glickman Capital is a private equity firm specializing in equity investments in family owned businesses undergoing generational transfers, management and leveraged buyouts, growth capital, recapitalization of a privately owned company, going private transaction of micro-cap publicly held companies, orphaned assets (divisions of larger companies or portfolio companies of private equity firms), add-on acquisitions, corporate divestitures of non-strategic or non-core operating assets, and small and middle market companies. The firm does not invest in natural resources or heavily regulated industries, financial services, insurance, start-up or high-technology companies, service or consulting companies and also in situations involving commodity-based products, real-estate risks, or industries or products, with significant exposure to product obsolescence. It prefers to invest in niche manufacturing, aerospace, consumer products, food service, brand management, building products, telecommunications, water filtration, specialty chemicals, distribution, trucking, retail, vending and apparel sectors. The firm primarily invests in companies based in Southern California, but would consider investments in California and Southwestern United States. It typically invests in companies having existing operating cash flow between $1 and $10 million, that have a visible strategy to double or triple EBITDA, enterprise values between $5 million and $50 million, and transaction value between $10 million and $50 million. The firm invests in small and middle-market companies with revenues between $5 million and $100 million. It, in conjunction with other investors, will consider investments in larger companies and larger financings. The firm prefers to be a lead or sole investor and can participate in financings, where others serve as the lead investor. It takes majority ownership in its portfolio companies but can also consider minority investments. Glickman Capital is based at Beverly Hills, California.
