About
JSC Partnership Fund is a private equity and venture capital arm of Government of Georgia specializing in direct and fund of fund investments. Within direct it invests it incubation, seed/startup, early venture, mid venture, equity, distressed/vulture debt, mezzanine, emerging growth, middle market, bridge financing, industry consolidation, growth capital, convertible or non-convertible subordinated loans, convertible or non-convertible senior loans, and guarantees for projects in the energy sector. For fund of fund investments it invests in private equity funds, venture capital funds, mezzanine funds. The firm prefers to invest in transportation, manufacturing, rail, oil and gas, agriculture, freight rail, rail infrastructure, ports, gas transportation, electricity transmission, electricity distribution, logistics/infrastructure, electricity trading, tourism, real estate, and energy sectors with a focus on hydro power plants. The firm seeks to invest only in commercially viable projects in Georgia. It seeks to invest in less developed industries of the Georgian economy and provides guarantees to private and public sector companies operating in Georgia with priority for energy projects. The firm prefers to invest in companies with a minimum enterprise value of $1 million. For equity investments, it seeks to hold a minority stake of up to 50 percent of the project company’s equity and less than 25 percent participation in the entire project, with certain exceptions. The firm invests it personal capital and also makes balance sheet investments and may even co-invest. JSC Partnership Fund was established on June 28, 2011 and is based in Tbilisi, Georgia.
