Lakestar is a European venture capital firm founded in 2012 by Klaus Hommels, a seasoned investor known for early investments in companies like Facebook, Skype, and Revolut. The firm focuses on early and growth-stage investments across sectors such as deep tech, healthcare, fintech, and digitalization. With offices in Zurich, Berlin, and London, Lakestar has developed a strong presence in the European tech ecosystem. The firm's first institutional fund, Lakestar I, launched in 2013 with €150 million, investing in European startups like Omio (formerly GoEuro).
