Motoring Ventures LLC is a private equity firm specializing in investments in buyouts, distressed and carve-outs of business units or brands, divestitures, and control acquisitions. It seeks to invest in acquisitions of middle market companies and of healthy, underperforming or under-managed companies. The firm targets investments in the automotive, transportation products, and powersports sectors, and in business to consumer (B2C) and business to business (B2B) companies. The firm targets companies that design, engineer, manufacture and market products including commercial, specialty and niche vehicle OEMs, tier 1 & 2 vehicle sub-systems suppliers, vehicle fuel efficiency and emissions reduction technologies and solutions, auto aftermarket product manufacturers, manufacturers of other designed and highly-engineered products, and Manufacturers of other branded consumer durable products. Within these sectors the firm prefers to invest in intellectual property (IP) and assets of discontinued (orphaned) car, truck and motorcycle brands, alternative personal motorized transportation; in companies that design, engineer and manufacture components and complete vehicle sub-systems for e.g. chassis, powertrain, body, safety, fuel, electrical, etc.; in advanced powertrain and vehicle efficiency solutions - internal combustion engine (ICE) fuel efficiency technologies, clean diesel technologies, compressed natural gas (CNG) systems, lightweight materials, CO2 reduction solutions; in companies that design, manufacture and market discretionary parts and accessories that enhance performance, appearance or longevity of vehicles – powertrain electronics, paint and graphics, seating and interior upgrades, chassis / ride & handling systems, lighting; in companies that design, engineer, manufacture and market products for the aerospace, construction, heavy equipment industries, and application-specific products; and in companies that design, manufacture and market products such as - sports equipment, appliances, household goods, consumer electronics, toys and hobby products. It seeks to invest in Asia, Latin America, Cyprus, North America and Africa with a preference for developing auto markets of China, India, and Africa. The firm seeks to invest in companies with annual revenues between $50 million and $500 million, minimum EBITDA of $5 million, and enterprise values between $25 million and $100 million. It prefers to have a maximum EBITDA margin of 10%. The firm seeks to make Article 9 and 363 sales.
