In the healthcare sector, it invests in diagnostics, medical devices/instruments, therapeutics and testing, drug delivery technologies, and imaging. Within cleantech, the firm seeks to invest in water, new materials, energy, and process efficiency. The firm basically prefers to invest in innovations which increase educational attainment; improve employment readiness and employment rates; increase positive contributions in communities and society overall; and improve physical and mental well-being of children and young people; new products and services that help improve the health and well-being of children and young people thereby reducing avoidable injury and premature deaths of older people; increasing the number of older people enjoying high quality of life; and increasing the number of older people participating in social, cultural and economic life. It typically invests in companies based in United Kingdom. The firm makes debt investments of between £0.15 million ($0.25 million) and £1 million ($1.64 million). The firm seeks to make investments between £0.05 million ($0.08 million) and £1 million ($1.64 million). It prefers to invest in companies with annual sales of at least £500 million ($818.40 million). For the initial investment, the firm acts either as a lead investor in the company or part of a syndicate of co-investors. It prefers to take a board seat in its portfolio companies. For fund of fund investments, the firm invests in early stage funds as a limited partner or co-investor. It may also act as a cornerstone investor. It does not provide grants of any kind.
