NewWorld Capital Group, LLC is a private equity firm specializing in later stage public market, growth capital, emerging capital, buyouts, mature, special situations and lower middle and middle market investments. It does not invest in capital intensive businesses, companies whose value depends on high hydrocarbon prices, and segments targeted by China or other Southeast Asia competitors. It targets undervalued and capital-constrained companies. It also invests in related light infrastructure projects by providing project finance and structured equity. The firm prefers to invest in the environmental opportunities and resource productivity sectors and focuses on clean energy, clean energy infrastructure, energy efficiency, environmental products and services, food & agriculture, waste to Value, water resource and reclamation. Within clean energy infrastructure it invests in Commercial & Industrial-scale or small utility-scale solar PV, Emergent opportunities in residential solar (such as solar gardens), Small-scale or low-head hydroelectric power projects, Utility-scale wind projects, and Ground-source heat pump systems. Within clean energy, it focuses on balance of system solar innovations, distributed solar financing, rood mounted solar innovations, biomass co-firing, Companies addressing optimization and resource mapping (e.g., solar, wind, geothermal, hydropower). Within energy efficiency it focuses on energy management systems, energy-efficient appliances (e.g. high efficiency air conditioners), combined cooling, heating, and power (CCHP) distributed energy, smart grid applications, Retrofits for commercial and residential buildings. Within environmental services, it focuses on Service companies with consolidation potential, energy services companies (ESCOs), related information and analytical services, regulatory compliance services, and green supply chain services. Under waste to value, the firm targets waste-to-energy conversion, waste-to-materials recovery, waste stream management, waste-to-fertilizer conversion. Within water resources and reclamation, it targets industrial on-site treatment and reuse systems, distributed wastewater treatment systems and services, grey water reuse systems, low-water use processes and products, precision agriculture systems. Within sustainable and biodegradable materials, the firm invests in high performance plastics, high performance chemicals, durable non-corrosive composites, and biodegradable packaging. It focuses on “backwards compatible” businesses that do not require material change in the downstream product distribution and service system. It invests in companies based in United States and Canada. It seeks to invest between $10 million and $50 million in companies with EBITDA of between $3 million and $15 million. The firm holds 60% of its capital in minority stake in its portfolio companies and occasional majority stakes. NewWorld Capital Group, LLC was founded in June 2009 and is based in New York, New York.
