It seeks to invest in technology with a focus on life sciences, advanced materials, business-to-business, SaaS electronics and controls, surveillance, electric component, heavy electric equipment, pharmaceuticals, analyzing, information technology. The firm typically invests in companies based in Ohio with a focus on Northeast Ohio. It seeks to invest between $0.25 million and $0.3 million in its portfolio companies with $0.2 million held in reserve for possible follow-on investment. The firm also participates in follow-on financings. It typically invests in the form of preferred equity securities, convertible preferred securities, however, other forms of equity or convertible debt will be considered. The firm can also partner with other angel funds and or venture capital investment groups where companies need support of $1 million or more. It prefers to take a board seat. North Coast Ventures was founded in 2006 and is based in Mayfield Heights, Ohio.
