Within the energy sector, it seeks to invest in companies in the oil and natural gas; coal and uranium; coal bed methane; and alternative energy sources sectors. For infrastructure investments, the firm focuses on transportation; equipment manufacturers, and utilities sectors. It also considers investments in technology companies. The firm seeks to invest globally. It invests a maximum of $150 million in its portfolio companies. The firm prefer to have majority, and minority stake in companies. The firm structures its investments through equity, convertible debt, guaranteed IRR notes, and mezzanine debt. It acquires both control and non-control stakes in its portfolio companies. The firm participates in the board of its portfolio company. It prefers to invest in mining companies where a value catalyst is projected within the next two years.
