Peloton Equity, LLC is a private equity and venture capital firm specializing in investments in late venture; mezzanine financing; later stage; mature; emerging growth; leveraged buyouts; growth capital including acceleration and platform; PIPEs; and build-ups in lower middle market companies. The firm invests in growth capital in private and public companies. It primarily invests in companies engaged in healthcare and healthcare related businesses including healthcare services with a focus on HMOs, home Infusion, home respiratory, post-acute care, urgent care, dialysis, distribution, and ASCs; clinical products with a focus on generic/specialty pharma, spine/orthopedic, cardiac/urological, DME, blood glucose monitoring, and lab products; outsourcing and infrastructure including HCIT staffing/consulting, pharma outsourcing, cost/utilization management, transcription, claims validation, home based care providers, facilities based care providers, and logistics; companies marketing, manufacturing and developing commercially approved products used for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes; and outsourcing or infrastructure firms which cater to healthcare providers, healthcare payers, or pharmaceutical manufacturers. The firm seeks to invest in the United States. It prefers to invest between $10 million and $45 million but also co-invests in case of larger transactions in companies with revenues between $20 million and $200 million. The firm is control agnostic and makes both minority and majority investments. It prefers to take at least one seat on the boards of directors of its portfolio companies, assuming an active role, and also serves on the major board committees of its portfolio companies. The firm prefers to act as a lead but also co-invests and holds its investments for a period of three to seven years. It typically invests through equity and quasi-equity securities including common stock, convertible preferred stock, and convertible subordinated debt. The firm leads its portfolio companies to sale and introduces them to relevant buyers. Peloton Equity, LLC was founded in 1995 and is based in Greenwich, Connecticut.
