Pfingsten Partners, L.L.C. is a private equity firm specializing in investment in platform acquisitions, private companies undergoing an ownership transition, recapitalization or requiring growth capital, corporate divestitures, financial restructurings, strategic add-on acquisitions for platform companies, buyouts, special situations, later stage, lower middle market, and mature companies. It does not directly invest in early-stage companies, real estate, natural resources, banks, insurance companies, utilities, retail businesses, restaurant chains, technology, telecommunications, and Internet companies. The firm prefers to invest in niche manufacturing, distribution, and selected business services companies, publishing, wholesale distribution sectors. It seeks to invest in companies headquartered in the United States, Midwest region and prefers to invest in North America for Platform investments. The firm prefers to invest between $2 million and $100 million equity investment in companies having transaction value between $15 million and $100 million, with an EBITDA between $3 million and $12 million, and revenues between $20 million and $150 million. It prefers to take a majority stake and invests a minimum of 50 per cent of equity in the capital structure of each portfolio company. For add-on acquisitions, it has no geographic preference or minimum EBITDA. The firm seeks to acquire a controlling interest in its portfolio companies, either alone or with a co-investor. Pfingsten Partners, L.L.C. was founded in 1989 and is based in Chicago, Illinois with an additional office in Kowloon Bay, Hong Kong.
