Within instrumentation and related, the firm invests in lab instruments, field instruments, test and measurement equipment, diagnostic devices, process control instruments, sensors, monitors, components for instruments or devices, and consumables, reagents and apparatus. Within production & processing equipment, it invests in lab products, critical production. Within critical outsourced services, it invests in inspection, certification, Compliance services, Testing labs, Integrators, VARs, Outsourced pharmaceutical services (e.g. CRO, CDMO, consulting) and Specialty distribution. Within components and consumables, it invests in high-value chemicals, reagents and standards, proprietary parts, differentiated consumables, testing and monitoring kits. The firm typically invests in Europe and in North America with a focus on the United States and Canada. It seeks to make investments between $10 million and $100 million in its portfolio companies with enterprise value between $10 million and $300 million, and EBITDA between $2.5 million for platform companies and $20 million. The firm prefers to invest in companies in with minimum EBITDA is Break even. The firm prefers to invest in a companies with revenues $10 million to $250 million. The firm also invests larger amounts in certain situations with support from its partners. The firm only seeks significant minority transactions and majority stakes. It also considers platform investments in growing companies that may still be unprofitable and/or companies with significant structural or operational complexity. The firm actively seeks add-on acquisitions for select portfolio companies (strategic fit is more important than size or profitability).
