It seeks to invest in lower middle-market IP-rich businesses and mature companies. The firm focuses investments around core competencies in government contracting, services and technology companies. It primarily invest in the following industry sectors: aerospace and defense technology and services with focus on sensors and analytics, command and control, cyber security, communication networks and services, and avionics and instrumentation; power technology services with a focus on planning and prevention, response, remediation, and monitoring; environmental technology and services with a focus on generation, storage, and management and optimization; and healthcare technologies and services with a focus on provider and payer solutions, high intensity data (sensors, monitoring, data transmission, and related information management), ‘data exhaust’ from proprietary sensors or devices, and solutions that automate complex processes or reduce administrative costs. The firm seeks to make investments in Southeastern and mid-Atlantic regions of the United States. It seeks to make controlled equity and debt investments in companies with revenue between $5 million to $100 million and a minimum EBITDA of $1 million. The firm prefers to retain equity positions in its portfolio companies.
