Ecosystem Overview

Palau has an extremely nascent startup and venture capital ecosystem, with virtually no established VC infrastructure or formal startup networks. As a small island nation of roughly 18,000 people, the economy is heavily dependent on tourism and fisheries, leaving limited room for high-growth tech ventures. Entrepreneurial activity that does exist tends to be micro and small enterprises focused on serving the local tourism industry, marine resources, and basic services. International development organizations and government initiatives, rather than private venture capital, are the primary sources of funding for emerging businesses.
